Canyon Wren on the Dry CANYON Trail!

One recent sunny, summer morning my good friend (and beautiful soul who introduced me to “birding”) Sandy and I started our walk through the Dry Canyon Trail at the “stinky end” (AKA the city Waste Water Treatment Plant) in Redmond, Oregon. We have been walking this trail together for about 20 years. We were excited to hear the charming song of a Canyon Wren as we did our stair climb workout. We were both giddy mid-climb to find an entire Canyon Wren family on the rocks next to the stairs!

Here we are in 2018 celebrating we made it to the top without dying!

The song of the Canyon Wren is one of my favorites and it stops me in my tracks every time I hear it!

So the next time you are on the Dry Canyon Trail be on the lookout for this beautiful-looking and beautiful-sounding bird.
